A senior therapist at TAKE A BREAK Spa Frederiksberg can be a cosmetologist about to complete their education, a seasoned cosmetologist with solid experience, or someone who is currently studying for a master’s degree. They work with Nimue and Comfort Zone products to ensure effective treatments, customized to your skin type.

Senior therapists offer a wide range of treatments such as enzyme peels, bio active peels (15%), glycolic acid peels (35%), detox peels, smart micropeels, diamond abrasion, Beauty Angel light treatments, advanced serums and more in-depth deep cleansing. They can also advise you on the right home care and create a treatment program tailored to your skin condition. However, they do not have access to the most advanced acid treatments, which only a master practitioner can perform.

For specific or more complex skin issues, it is recommended to choose a master practitioner to ensure the best solution.

Junior facial treatment

A junior therapist at TAKE A BREAK Spa Frederiksberg is either in training or a new employee who is learning to work with Nimue and Comfort Zone products. They are in a learning process and their experience and skills may vary, which means you can’t always expect the same level of expertise as more experienced therapists.

Junior therapists can perform basic treatments such as enzyme peels, bio active peels (15%), detox peels, smart micropeels, massage, Beauty Angel light treatments and light deep cleansing. They can also advise you on home care, but as they are still learning, they may need to consult a more experienced colleague for complex questions.

While a junior practitioner can achieve great results with your skin, they don’t have access to the more advanced acid treatments and masks that a master practitioner offers. If you have demanding skin issues, it’s recommended to choose a master practitioner for the best results.

Diamond slurry

Diamond polishing is a gentle treatment that gently removes dead skin cells, performs a deep exfoliation, improves blood circulation and leaves the skin radiant. We would recommend diamond polishing for most people, especially for:

• Skin with coarse pores
• Clogged skin where the blockages are difficult to clean out
• Skin that looks dull and gray

During the treatment, a diamond grinding head is used, chosen based on your skin’s needs and condition. Fruit acids work on the skin both externally and internally and do the following:

Fruit acid exfoliates the skin on the outside and removes dead skin cells, leaving skin soft and radiant.

Fruit acids bind moisture better in the skin, allowing the skin to work better and perform its biological functions.

Fruit acid stimulates collagen production, which tightens and prevents lines, wrinkles and aging from within, as well as boosting your skin and making it more vibrant to look at. Likewise, fruit acid activates cell renewal and can alleviate skin damage such as sun damage and pigment spots.

Fruit acids also work well on impurities and acne, as the exfoliation ‘opens’ blockages and clears pores of sebum and impurities. Fruit acids also have a good effect on inflammation, reduce scars and even out pigmentation.

Your therapist will choose from the following:

NIMUE Thermal Detox peel is often used for 30 min. Facial treatment. It provides effective but short-term results as it exfoliates, deep cleanses, refines skin texture and minimizes pores.

15% AHA Bio Active renews and rejuvenates the skin and optimizes the effectiveness of NIMUE’s home care products. Use for first-time customers or customers with sensitive skin who are starting a program.

35% AHA Glycol works on coarse skin texture, scars/acne scars, lines and wrinkles due to the fine molecular structure of the acid. This acid is used for the regular customer as part of a longer course.

Enzyme Peel This is not a fruit acid peel, but an enzyme peel containing papaya and pineapple enzymes that gently loosen dead skin cells and stimulate cell renewal. To avoid overstimulation, choose this peel if you want to combine fruit acids and deep cleansing.

Diamond grinding is an effective way to activate the skin’s natural renewal process through a mechanical process.

Exfoliation. The small diamonds in the machine’s abrasive head (which is adjusted to your skin type) gently remove dead skin cells. The machine’s light compressive vacuum stimulates blood circulation and activates collagen and elastin production, enhancing the skin’s natural regeneration process. NIMUE’s professional products can contain high concentrations of fruit acids. When working with NIMUE products, we talk about 3 phases, as the skin must continuously get used to the concentration of fruit acids.

PHASE 1 – The start-up period where your skin gets used to fruit acids in your home care products with a low fruit acid content. In Phase 1, up to 7% fruit acids are used. The duration can vary from 4 – 6 weeks.
PHASE 2 – Later in the process, your skin has become so strong that you can use home care products and facials with a higher fruit acid content. In Phase 2, up to 10% fruit acids are used.
PHASE 3 – Continue using products from phases 1 and 2. In phase 3, boost results with professional NIMUE facials. Up to 15% fruit acids are used.
